Before submitting the Application for Review of English Name Availability, please read the guidelines for English names and check to determine if the application name is the same as or similar to an English name already registered in order to prevent the application from being returned without processing.
Results of the Self-check of English Name Availability are for reference only. Before registration, the applicant must submit the “ Application for Review of English Name Availability ”.The English name will then be reviewed by the TITA and approved if it is available.
If the English name violates other laws and ordinances and infringes on the prior rights of others, it shall still be handled in accordance with the provisions of the laws and ordinances.
Please check if there is already a well-known registered trademark before applying for the review of English name and registration so as to avoid any dispute between the English name and the trademark rights.

一、	英文名稱登記，應載明主體名稱及組織種類；外國分公司之英文名稱應標明其國籍及分公司名稱。
二、	出進口廠商英文名稱不得與現有或經經濟部國際貿易署註銷、撤銷或廢止出進口廠商登記未滿2年之出進口廠商英文名稱相同。但有正當理由經貿易署專案核准或外國分公司之英文名稱與其外國公司相同，且標明其國籍及分公司名稱者，不在此限。
三、	出進口廠商英文名稱是否相同，應就其主體名稱審查；主體名稱不相同，其英文名稱為不相同。
四、	英文名稱中標明不同業務種類或可資區別之文字者，縱其主體名稱相同，其英文名稱視為不相同。前項可資區別之文字不包括冠詞、縮寫、空格、符號、大小寫及組織種類。
五、	申請登記之英文名稱，其標明產業之專業名詞，不得逾其營業項目範圍。
六、	英文名稱不得與政府機關或公益團體有混同誤認之虞。
七、	英文名稱如有違反其他法令，而侵害他人在先權利者，仍應依各該法令規定辦理。

1.	The name for which the registration is being applied shall consist of the main name together with the type of company. The English name for the branch of a foreign company must indicate both the foreign company's national origin and the fact that it is a branch of that company.
2.	The English name of an exporter/importer shall not be identical to the English name of another exporter/importer, either existing or whose registration has been canceled, revoked or nullified by the TITA within the last two years, unless special approval is obtained from the TITA based on justifiable reasons or if the English name of a branch of a foreign company is the same as the name of the foreign company and the said name indicates both the foreign company's national origin and the fact that it is a branch of that company.
3.	Whether the English name of an exporter/importer is identical, shall be determined by examining the main name. If the main name is different, then the English name shall be deemed different.
4.	When examining the English name of an exporter/importer, if its key words indicate a different type of business or distinguishable words are different, then its English name shall be considered different. The distinguishable words referred to in the previous paragraph do not include: an English article (e.g., “a, an, the”); an abbreviated word; a space or spaces; a symbol or symbols; different lowercase or uppercase letters; or a different corporate designation (e.g., “Inc.,”“Co.,” etc.)
5.	The English name on the application for registration, which indicates professional words of the industry, shall not transcend the scope of its business items.
6.	The English name shall not be such that it is likely to cause confusion with or indicate similarity to that of any government agencies or non-profit organizations.
7.	If the English name violates other laws and ordinances and infringes on the prior rights of others, it shall still be handled in accordance with the provisions of the laws and ordinances.
